Anti-Malware Windows XP Available Until 2015

Written By Unknown on Wednesday 5 February 2014 | 22:22

Even though Windows XP operating system will expire on April 8, Microsoft still provides its anti-malware until July 14, 2015, to anticipate technical difficulty for users migrating and upgrading to a new operating system.

"Anti-malware will update automatically," Microsoft Indonesia’s business group head windows division Lucky Gani said yesterday.

He said consumers have been migrating three months prior to the end of Windows XP. Several companies are still using Windows XP due to software problem, Lucky added. He said ATM (Automated Teller Machines) still use Windows XP. "They use Windows XP embedded for industry."

Some companies that have migrated choose the operating system that suit their needs. The main factor is the availability of hardware that supports whether Windows 7, 8 or the latest 8.1. "It depends on each company’s decision," Lucky said.

The 13-year-old Windows XP is considered the best operating system ever made by Microsoft. This operating system is stable especially in 64-bit devices.

Microsoft has actually stopped updating Windows XP since 2009, but the high consumer demand caused them to provide more update.
