Former Indonesian Ambassador to United States (US), Dino Patti Djalal motivated and shared his experiences about Indonesia in front of 500 graduated students of McLean High School at Constitutional Hall, Washington DC. Djalal asked students to fill their hearts with faith, compassion, goodness and idealism.
"With that, the life becomes meaningful," Djalal said recently as reported by Dyah Ratna Meta Novia.
According to Djalal, the world is controlled by geek people - a slang term used to describe an expert or enthusiast or a person obsessed with a hobby or intellectual pursuit - who have knowledge, imagination and willingness to change people. This attitude must be owned by students.
One of the most important phenomenon of 21st century is the emergence of China, India, South Korea, Turkey and Indonesia as popular countries in the world. According to Djalal, they are driven by strong mental strength.
In carrier, a person does not just have to be smart or clever, but also wise. The three mental strength must be optimalized and implemented simultaneously.
A smart person is not necessarily clever or wise. Smart people often become corrupt because they are not wise. No matter how busy we are, Djalal asked students to remember their family in every way. According to him, the love and loyalty of family are the purest and most permanent in our life.
