Ketapang Port to be Closed During 'Nyepi' Celebration

The Ketapang Port in Banyuwangi, East Java, will be closed down on Monday, March 31, 2014, in relation to the Nyepi celebration. 

Saharudin Koto, Operational Manager of the River, Lake, and Crossing Transportation (ASDP) in Ketapang Port, stated that the port will be closed down starting on Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 11:00pm local time. 

Ketapang port will resume operation on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 05:30am. "The port will be closed to respect the Hindunese on Nyepi celebration," he said.

ASDP Ketapang has noted an increasing number of traffic leaving Bali on March 25, 2014, ranging between 10 to 15 percent.
