Sydney -
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has spoken up on the notion that
Schapelle Leigh Corby might be soon released from Kerobokan
Penitentiary, Bali.
Abbott said it is entirely Indonesia's justice
system, which is different from that of Australia's.
Earlier on Wednesday, Legal and Human Rights Minister Amir Syamsuddin
said Corby is among the 1,700 names on the list of parole release
convicts. Amir is also reported to announce Corby's release this Friday.
PM Abbott, hearing that news, is reluctant to comment further on
Corby's parole. Instead, he mentioned Australian in Indonesia is subject
to Indonesia justice system, vice versa.
Corby was sentenced 20 years of imprisonment by Denpasar Court for
smuggling 4.1 marijuana.
Since October 2013, Corby has been filing for
parole, yet receiving no answer from the authority. In total, Corby has
received 39 months of sentence reduction, before finally reported to
earn parole.
