Malaysian investor has shown its interest to manage Jakarta Deep Tunnel
project. Nik Zamri Majid Dato, a project consultant of Committee on
Revival of Abandoned
Projects, the Malaysian investor is currently
waiting for the approval from Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo.
"We’re still waiting for the governor's decision before starting the project," said Nik during his visit to Tempo earlier today.
Nik said he was ready to conduct a feasibility study as a
prerequisite to start the project as it has a business potential.
According to him, the investor is willing to cover costs incurred by the
feasibility study.
If the study showed that the project is not feasible, the investor
would bear the risk of losses, but it would not be a problem as "Every
company spares 10 percent of its budget for advertising. So, if the
feasibility study shows bad results, we will consider it as an
advertising cost," he said.
However, Nik said he would ask for an incentive from the government
if the project is feasible. He requested the investor that conducts the
feasibility study to have the main role in the project.
