Various ways keeps conducting Jakarta Provincial Government to attract more visitors in traditional markets in the capital. One of them is by building five

semi-modern markets. To realize it, fund as much as Rp1 trillion is being filed to Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) for market. The market will be rented out to peddlers at very cheap prices.

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama a.k.a. Ahok said such construction aims to not rely on private sector. That is why, Rp1 trillion was proposed to DRPD for market construction. The fund would be included in the government investment participation (PMP).

"The market model is almost the same with flat. The market would be build under and house on top," said Basuki when he accompanied Jakarta Governor, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to inaugurate Ciplak Market, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Thursday.

Such market model will be built in large amount for street vendors who sell on the roadside. The market would be managed by PD Pasar Jaya and its physical construction by Housing and Government Buildings Department.
