After a life boat carrying dozens of illegal immigrants was stranded
at Pangandaran West Coast, West Java, last night, the immigrants were
brought to Tasikmalaya Immigration Office.
"They have been brought to
Tasikmalaya Immigration Office," Ciamis Water Police chief Adjunct
Commissioner Firmansyah said earlier this morning.
There are 34 immigrants coming from Iran, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan.
According to Water police officer, Aiptu Sutikno, based on one of the
immigrants' information, they had gone to Australia’s water, but were
discovered by Australian security forces and were driven back to
Indonesia’s water.
During their trip back to Indonesia, the life boat ran out of fuel.
They were then stranded at Pangandaran West Coast. "The immigrants have
been secured by Pangandaran Police and Navy," Sutikno said.
