The mansion where American producer, director, animator, and dubber
Walt Disney once lived was sold at US$74 million or equal to about
Rp887.4 billion.
Hollywood Reporter stated Carolwood Drive
property in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles, United States was offered at
US$90 million on the price list by Jay Harris and Mauricio Umansky
property agent.
The seller is an investor Gabriel Brener who also owns US soccer
club, Houston Dynamo. The house was sold to an international buyer who
asked to be anonymous. Brener purchased the house in the 1990s at almost
US$ 8.5million and done some renovations on the empty spaces.
According to the President of Pacific Carolwood Society History,
Michael Campbell, Walt Disney bought the house in 1949 and lived there
until he passed away.
It was this house that the foundations of the Walt
Disney theme parks supposedly took shape, inspired by the one-eighth
scale railroad train, dubbed the Carolwood Pacific Railroad, which
Disney built around the house.
