The photo competition was started since April 20 and will be closed on June 30. As for the exhibition, it will be held on August 18 in JIExpo Kemayoran.
The annual event was firstly held in 2010 and aimed to promote the beauty of Indonesia and also to grow talents in photography. The Ministry has been in coordination with the Indonesian Photography Community in organizing the event.
Marie Elka Pangestu, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy said that people’s animo towards the competition is high. Last year, there were 20,981 photoworks submitted in the competition.
"We target 30,000 photoworks this year," said Marie.
The participants will be competing to win hundred millions rupiahs total prize. Under the theme of 'Indonesia Uniting in Diversity', the competition is divided into three categories: student, university student, and public.
