Google has launched a service that allows European citizens asking their personal data deleted from an online search .
The action comes after the European court 's decision earlier this month gave the " right to be forgotten . "
Links to the data are " not relevant " and old data must be removed upon request .
Google said it will evaluate all requests and balancing " the rights
of individual privacy and the public's right to know and to distribute
information . "
" When evaluating your application , we will see whether the search
results include information that is no longer valid about you , and
whether there is public interest for the information , " Google said in a
form to be filled in by the user .
Google said it will see information about " financial fraud ,
professional malpractice , criminal charges or government official track
record " when deciding whether to deny or grant the request .
Earlier this month , the BBC learned that half of the requests sent to Google from the UK comes from recidivists .
One of them came from a man who pleaded guilty to having images of child abuse .
