Barcelona was saved by the bell in La Liga, with Messi scored a
defining goal against Villareal at Madrigal stadium.
The match,
specially dedicated to the late former manager Tito Vilanova, was so
significant as the top three in La Liga table are currently racing to
secure the pole.
Prior to the match, the two teams paid a tribute to Vilanova, who
passed away last week of cancer. Wearing "Forever Tito" jersey, the two
teams embarked on a fierce yet odd game.
Villareal, despite losing only by three goals, scored a total of four
goals, two of which were own goals. To the Catalan's luck, Lionel Messi
scored a defining goal, helping Barcelona walk away from Madrigal with
three points.
With three matches in hand, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico
Madrid are all still on bet for winning La Liga. The league runner,
Atletico, need only to score six points to win this season. Barcelona,
on the other hand, hope that the final fixture against Atletico in
Estadio Nou Camp will be a sweet real finale.
