The 2014 Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) will be held at Bali Nusa
Dua Convention Center, Bali and in Kuta in June 10 to 14, 2014.
The
fair is aimed at increasing foreign tourist visit to Bali, while
encouraging tourists to visit other destinations, especially in
Indonesia's eastern region which is being developed through the Bali
Beyond program.
According to Tourism Marketing director general Esthy Reko Astuty,
the program would encourage foreign tourists to continue their trips to
eastern region so they can stay longer and spend more.
"Therefore, access to direct flights from Bali to eastern Indonesia will be improved," Esthy said.
The 2014 BBTF would be the first event to be held by the Tourism and
Creative Economy Ministry together with the Association of the Indonesia
Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) for Bali. The event is hoped to be an
annual international event in order to develop Bali as the world's tour
destination.
Asita chairman for Bali and chief of BBTF, Ketut Ardana, said the
event would inspire and motivate the tourism industry to increase the
number of foreign visitors to Indonesia through Bali.
"We hope that foreign tourists would visit other destinations in
Indonesia, so they can be introduced to its nature and culture," Ardana
said.
The 2014 BBTF, themed "Gateway to Indonesian Creative Tourism," will
become a business meeting for Indonesia's tourism sellers and domestic
and international buyers from ASEAN, China, Australia, Middle East, and
Europe.
There will be 350 domestic and international buyers from 55
countries and 450 local sellers to participate in the prescheduled
appointment business meeting.
