The culinary festival takes place at the yard of Vastenburg Fort and will present signature dishes of 30 hotels in Surakarta.
"Each hotel has their own special menus," said the Chief Executive of the festival, Daryono, on Saturday.
The offered dishes will include appetizers, main dishes, and desserts with affordable prices. There will be 55 booths and 25 hotel cooking ware booths. The organizer also provides space for non-hotel cuisine cooks for free.
The advisor of Indonesia Chef Association in Solo, Jeffrey Y. Kotta, said that the hotel chefs have been committed to present Indonesian traditional dishes, especially the ones originated from Solo such as nasi liwet, tengkleng, asem-asem buncis, and wedang kunyit asam.
In addition, there will be cooking competition that will be judged by famous Indonesian culinary experts such as Sisca Soewitomo, Bondan Winarno, dan William Wongso. The festival is open for visit starting from 07:30 am to 21:00 pm local time.
