Clarence Seedorf had an excellent debut with AC Milan when the team
defeated Helas Verona 1-0 in Serie A Italy at San Siro on Monday,
January 20, 2014, thanks to Balotelli's penalty goal.
During the first half, Milan seemed unable to control the game.
Despite their domination, Ricardo Montolivo and his teammates were
having difficulties to score a goal against Verona. After 39 minutes,
Balotelli had a chance to get a goal from Robinho's pass, but Rafael
could parry the shot. There was a chance for rebound but Rafael managed
to save the ball.
The real opportunity came after Alejandro Gonzales tripped Kaka at
the penalty box at 81st minute. Balotelli executed the penalty and
brought Milan to win 1-0. With the victory, Seedorf's squad managed to
attain 11th position with 25 points of 20 matches. Milan is still 30
points behind the table topper, Juventus, and 18 points behind Napoli
which occupies Champions League zone.
